Summary of Discussion: Commissioners met to review the CDBG application and score sheet to identify potential areas of modification. Marie Cabler led discussion and invited conversation relating to the following subject areas:
Budget page format, categories, and totals
- Application format
- Subjective vs. objective scoring
- Priority needs
- Scoring criteria alignment with application questions
- Applicant funding sources (secured vs unsecured)
- Board profile page
- Demographic profile page
- HUD application requirements
- Agency effectiveness
- Application sections (identifying point totals)
- Evaluating program cost per participant served
- Identification of personal services on the application
- Grant cycle annual schedule
- Annual pre-determined, targeted funding
