The special meeting of the Medford City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Medford City Hall Council Chambers on the above date with the following members and staff present:
Mayor Gary Wheeler; Councilmembers Clay Bearnson, Kay Brooks, Tim D’Alessandro, Dick Gordon, Alex Poythress, Kevin Stine, Michael Zarosinski; City Manager Brian Sjothun, Deputy City Manager Eric Zimmerman, Deputy City Attorney Eric Mitton, and Deputy City Recorder Winnie Shepard

         30.1  Ward 4 Council Appointment
On behalf of the Council, President Tim D’Alessandro thanked the candidates and the citizen interview committee.  
Rick Whitlock, spokesman for the citizen interview committee, acknowledged the other volunteers that participated. The committee recommended three candidates:  Jessica Gomez, Eric Stark and Michael Campbell. Mr. Whitlock explained the committee’s reasoning and outlined how the decision was made.
Mayor Wheeler thanked all the citizen volunteers for their time.
There were seven candidates: Richard Bradshaw, Michelle Blum-Atkinson, Michael Campbell, Jessica Gomez, Kevin Keating, Dylan Moncus and Eric Stark. A ballot vote was conducted.  Councilmembers Bearnson, Brooks, Gordon and Stine voting for Eric Stark; Councilmembers D’Alessandro, Poythress and Zarosinski voting for Jessica Gomez. Eric Stark was determined to be the Ward 4 Councilmember, with a term ending December 31, 2020.

         There being no further business, this Council meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
