Parking Commission

A Parking Commission was established to advise the City Council on matters related to parking in the Central Business District, including but not limited to:

(a) downtown parking policies;

(b) plans for management of parking regulations and safety;

(c) proper public use of parking;

(d) protection of public structures and lots;

(e) grievances, objections and suggestions regarding parking; and

(f) requests for changes, additions and variances.

(2) The Commission shall consist of nine members.  The Mayor and City Council shall appoint seven persons who are owners or employees of businesses in the Central Business District or residents-at-large of the City of Medford. No more than one member may be a resident-at-large. In addition, there shall be one member who is appointed by Rogue Community College (RCC) as a representative, and one member who is appointed by Southern Oregon University (SOU) as a representative. All members shall be voting members.

(3) Term of office. Each appointed member shall serve a term of three years, with the exception of the members appointed from RCC and SOU. The RCC and SOU representatives will not serve for a specific term limit. RCC and SOU shall appoint representatives on an annual basis each February 1.

(4) A Council liaison shall be appointed by the President of the City Council to attend the meetings of the Parking Commission.
