The City of Medford is developing proposed revisions to the Land Development Code related to landscaping and irrigation system requirements for commercial, office, industrial, and multiple-family development.

PROJECT INTENT

The intent of this project is to amend and/or create new regulatory provisions to promote water conservation in the planning and installation of landscaping materials and irrigation systems.

 
COMMITTEE TASKS

The committee is tasked with the development of:

 

  1. Water-wise landscaping and irrigation standards for projects subject to site plan and architectural review (i.e. commercial, industrial, and multiple-family development);
  2. Enhanced landscaping inspection and enforcement processes;
  3. Water-wise landscaping and irrigation standards for planter strips;
  4. Non-binding water-wise landscaping and irrigation guidelines for single family residential properties;
  5. Other landscaping standards to recommend concurrently with water conservation landscaping amendments; and
  6. Educational concepts and materials regarding water-wise landscaping for designers and developers.
