The Cemetery Commission is an advisory body which makes recommendations regarding the funding and operation of the historic IOOF/Eastwood Cemetery. The cemetery is listed on the National Historic Register and is a State of Oregon Pioneer Cemetery.
A small discretionary fund allows the Commission to guide the selection of improvement projects at the property. The Commission also works to secure donations and bequests for the Cemetery, in addition to working to educate the public on the site and its significance. Many members volunteer their time at the site in hands-on improvement projects.
Members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three-year terms. The Commission currently holds general meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, if agenda items warrant; contact the liaison to confirm a meeting will be taking place or for other needs.
