Al Densmore was elected in November 2006.  His term of office is January 2007 through December 2010.  He served as Council Vice President in 2009, and is currently serving as Council President for 2010.  Al is a local insurance and financial consultant.

A native Oregonian, public service has long been an integral part of Al's life. Elected at the age of 24, Al served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1971-1977, rising to Majority Whip in 1973 and Speaker Pro tem in 1975. He then served as Mayor of Medford from 1977-1983. He is past president of the Bear Creek Greenway Foundation and of the Bear Creek Valley Rotary Club. He represents the City on various transportation and economic development committees.

Al married Sally in 1992. He is understandably proud of his two daughters: Brooke, who is currently a law student at the University of Washington, and Megan, who is a graduate of the University of Southern California in Theater.  Stepsons Ed and Joe and their families live in Southern California.
