Type of Incident: Four Arson Fires Set in Early Morning Hours

Beginning at 4:30 a.m. today, Medford Fire and Rescue and Medford
Police officers began responding to arson fires in a residential area in
At 4:30 a.m., Police and Fire responded to the alley behind 329 N. Holly
Street for some hay bales which were on fire. The fire was extinguished
with little damage.
At 4:53 a.m., Police and Fire then responded to 444 N. Grape Street for a
shed that had been burned, but the fire was extinguished quickly and the
damage was minimal.
At 5:17 a.m., Police and Fire responded to a fence on fire behind 535
Pennsylvania Drive. The fire damaged a large section of fence but did not
burn the outbuilding which was just feet away. Medford Fire put out this
fire as well.
At 6:38 a.m., Police and Fire responded to the alley behind 329 N. Holly
Street for an outbuilding on fire. This building was heavily damaged and
attached to a residence.
The investigation has revealed that the fires were intentionally set.
