Local Marijuana Grow Tied to Illegal Sales

Recently, MADGE investigators became aware of a local OMMP marijuana grow which was

possibly operating outside the legal guidelines. The location of the grow was 13003 Hwy 62,

which is the old Willamette Egg Farm. During the investigation, detectives confirmed that

marijuana was being shipped out of state in exchange for money. On October 24th, 2017,

MADGE Investigators, assisted by JCSO SWAT and MPD SWAT executed search warrants on

the 80 acre parcel on Hwy 62 (4 tax lots), as well as a residence in the 200 block of Reanna Way,


Investigators detained five people at the two locations, in addition to the main suspect, Clifton

Dwight Crump, 51, who was arrested after meeting undercover officers at a local motel.

Benjamin McFarland, 32, was arrested at the marijuana grow site on Hwy 62 and found to have a

warrant for his arrest, was in possession of methamphetamine, as well as a handgun. McFarland

is a convicted felon.

The marijuana grow was a legal medical marijuana grow site, however, not only was the

premises involved in illegal marijuana sales, but the property was well over the allowed plant

and product limit. At the conclusion of the search warrant on Hwy 62, 239 marijuana plants were

removed and destroyed. Several hundred pounds of processed marijuana was located at both the

Hwy 62 property and the Reanna Way home. It is estimated that the total weight of all the

marijuana seized will be around 3 tons, which includes both processed and unprocessed


In addition to the marijuana, investigators located:

- Over 1000 grams of butane honey oil (BHO),

- Over 14 grams of psilocybin mushrooms

- Over a pound of methamphetamine

- Over $7,600 in cash

- Packaging materials and other evidence to support illegal sales

This investigation is continuing and it is anticipated that additional arrests will occur.
