Prescott Park is closed until after 4 p.m. to recreational users Monday, June, 8 through Thursday, June 11 due to construction work.
Please do not attempt to drive, cycle, or walk into the park until after 4 p.m. on June 8-11.
Parks staff and construction teams will be on-site as they work to improve access to the park for all ages and abilities.
The Medford Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department received a Recreational Trails Grant from Oregon State Parks Department for construction of an ADA-compliant trail, which will provide access to Prescott Park by people with mobility challenges. The 3/4-mile long trail will be relatively flat and paved to five feet wide with benches and picnic tables to enjoy.
The location of the ADA trail poses significant falling rock hazards along the park access road and trails along the southwest slope of Roxy Ann Peak. Traffic control teams will be stationed at the entrance gate to restrict traffic to commercial quarry trucks only.
