RVCOAD encourages volunteers to sign up for community service
MEDFORD - Members of the Rogue Valley community are expressing a large interest in helping those in need during this unprecedented and historic wildfire event.
The Rogue Valley Community Organizations Active in Disaster (RVCOAD) is available to help those wishing to volunteer and those in need of volunteers. They are encouraging anyone interesting in volunteering in recovery efforts to visit their website at
www.roguevalley.recovers.org.
Volunteers can easily create an account and sign up, identifying the services they wish to volunteer for and availability. Those in need of volunteers can additionally register and identify their specific needs. RVCOAD then serves as a matchmaking service, connecting people to where they are needed the most and where they can make the largest impact.
“This coordinated approach results in the most efficient way of utilizing volunteers and getting them to services needing assistance in the fastest manner,” said, RVCOAD chair Mark Pederson.
