Special Services Section

The Special Services Section is located within the Patrol Division and Operation Bureau of the police department and is lead by Sgt. Trevor Arnold.  Specials Services includes the following units:

  • The Code Enforcement Unit
  • The Traffic Team
  • Part-Time Community Service Officers
  • Photo Enforcement Unit
  • Crime Prevention Unit
  • Volunteer Unit

In all, over 57 individuals (including 35 volunteers) fall under the supervision of Special Services. 

In addition to each unitís individual mission, Special Services is responsible for coordinating police activities and security at all special events, such as Pear Blossom, Medford Cruise, Art in Bloom, Red, White & Boom and many others. 

Special Services is also responsible for motorcades used during various protection details, responding to large protests, and the handling of other security details as well.

Overall, the mission of Special Services is to solve problems through creative and innovative methods, utilizing its varied resources.  Special Services works closely with other city departments, county, state and federal agencies, and community organizations in an effort to respond to the communityís needs in order to increase livability within the City of Medford.
