COVID-19: City Facilities Reopen for Limited In-person Services


Community Engagement Division

The Community Engagement Division is located within the Operation Bureau of the police department and is lead by Lt. Trevor Arnold.  The Community Engagement Division includes the following units:

  • The Code Enforcement Unit
  • The Traffic Team
  • The Livability Team
  • Photo Enforcement Unit
  • Crime Prevention Unit
  • Part-Time Community Service Officers
  • Volunteer Unit
  • School Resource Officers

In all, over 62 individuals (including 35 volunteers) fall under the supervision of the Community Engagement Division. 

In addition to each unitís individual mission, the Community Engagement Division is responsible for coordinating police activities and security at all special events, such as Pear Blossom, Medford Cruise, Art in Bloom, Red, White & Boom and many others. 

The Community Engagement Division is also responsible for motorcades used during various protection details, responding to large protests, and the handling of other security details as well.

Overall, the mission of the Community Engagement Division is to solve problems through creative and innovative methods, utilizing its varied resources.  This division works closely with other city departments, county, state and federal agencies, and community organizations in an effort to respond to the communityís needs in order to increase livability within the City of Medford.
