Permits Issued by the Manager's Office
Following is information about the most commonly requested permits that are issued by the City Manager's Office:
Use of amplification is not permitted between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. without the permission of the City Manager. Submit a written request to the City Manager providing the date, time, location, and type of amplification that will be used. There is no fee for this permit.
Alteration, demolition, erection or repair of any structure in the city between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. is prohibited. Permission for a variance from this ordinance can be granted by the City Manager if he determines that the public interest requires it or that no person in the area would be disturbed by the work. Submit a written request to the City Manager providing the date, time, location, and type of work that will be done. There is no fee for this permit.
Street Closure Permits
This permit applies to temporary closures of streets or sidewalks. Submit a written request to the City Manager providing the date, time, location, and reason for the proposed closure. Before issuing a permit, the Manager's office will ask other city departments to review the request to verify that the closure will cause no foreseeable problems. There is no fee for this permit.
This permit applies to all filming in the City on public property or rights-of-way. Additional permits for amplification and street closures may also apply. Fees do apply to this permit and vary depending on the number of days filming. Click here for more information and to access the permit form.
Other Publicly-Owned Property
The City Manager may also grant a special permit for the short-term use of publicly owned properties other than streets and sidewalks, park lands, recreational facilities and city hall. Use of such property may not exceed three days. Liability insurance and a fee for use of the property may be required.
