Homeowner Repair Program

The City of Medford offers a program for low-income eligible homeowners for home repairs through the Housing Authority of Jackson County. Funding for the program comes from the City of Medford's Community Block Grant Program.

Financial assistance is available to correct problems that could create a threat to the health and safety of the occupants. This includes leaking roofs, inefficient wood stoves, failed heating systems, unsafe wiring, failed plumbing systems, broken water heaters, broken glass, dangerous lead paint and structural defects such as severe dry rot.

The program may also help with weatherize of homes to achieve a more energy efficient environment for the homeowner(s). Low-income homeowners with disabilities may be eligible for assistance with the removal of architectural barriers, installations of ramps, handrails and grab bars as well as modifications of doorways.

General Eligibility Requirements

· The property must be located within the city limits of Medford.
· Applicants must either be buying their home or own it entirely.
· The home must be in habitable condition and able to pass a basic inspection for habitability and safety.
· Annual gross income of the entire household must not exceed 80% of the current median income amount, adjusted for family size, as established by HUD's FY 2015 Income Limits for Jackson County.
