As required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA Coordinator for the City of Medford is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the City to follow Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act so that the City does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of their disability when providing the City’s local government programs and services. The scope of assistance of the City’s ADA coordinator’s office is limited to the local government operations of the City of Medford.
The ADA Coordinator may field requests from people with disabilities needing modifications or accommodations related to their disability in order to receive City services or participate in the activities or programs of the City of Medford. Request forms are located on the City’s website ADA pages. A person with a disability may ask for forms and information in an alternate format, if needed due to their disability, in order to make such a request.
The ADA Coordinator is also responsible for addressing a complaint/grievance of alleged discriminatory action experienced by a person with a disability while trying to receive City services or participate in the activities or programs of the City of Medford. A complaint/grievance shall be handled in accordance with the grievance procedure explained in the City’s Administrative Regulation AR-93-R1 ADA Complaint-Grievance Procedure, which is posted on the City’s website. A person with a disability may ask for forms and information in an alternate format, if needed due to their disability, in order to submit a complaint/grievance.
