Our Sister City

Alba, Italy . . . Perched on the Tanaro River south of Turin in Northwest Italy off the beaten tourist path . . . Set among the vineyards, castles, and mountains . . . Similar to Medford in its climate, size and geography.

The Sister City link between Medford and Alba, Italy, has always been special. From its beginning in 1960 the program has emphasized genuine friendship between people. For thirty-six years the two cities have reduced the thousands of miles between them to an insignificant distance as the lives of the people of Medford and Alba have become intertwined in deep and enduring friendships.

The Medford Alba Sister City Association encourages a dynamic exchange between the two cities. It is an exciting way for residents of all ages, as well as civic and business leaders, to expand their cultural, civic, and economic horizons.

Persons interested in supporting the efforts of the Medford Alba Sister City Association are invited to contact the Mayor's office for more information. Learn about the customs and culture of Alba. Participate in programs, trips, and exchanges. Volunteer on a committee or serve as a host family.
