Homebuyer Assistance Programs

First Time Homebuyers with Mayor Wheeler
SOFCU HUD Counseling Center at Homebuyer Fair

The City of Medford offers several programs geared toward first time homebuyers and low to moderate income homebuyers.  The First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program targets first time homebuyers who earn 80% of median income or less offering down payment and closing cost assistance up to $15,000.

The newest program, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program or NSP1 offers $50,000 for mortgage reduction, down payment and closing cost assistance for those income qualified persons earning 120% of median income or less and choosing to purchase a bank-owned foreclosed property  located in a targeted census tract within the City of Medford.

Both programs require the applicant to take a HUD certified homebuyer education class.

The City of Medford, in partnership with the West Medford Community Coalition, annually offers a First Time Homebuyer Fair with participating lenders, realtors and nonprofit counseling agencies.
