Sealed proposals for the selection of a qualified Public Defender will be received by the City of Medford until 4:00 PM, PST, November 29, 2018 by Jennifer Huston, Purchasing Agent, City of Medford. Proposal responses may be submitted electronically through BidSync or on paper to Jennifer Huston, Purchasing Agent, City of Medford, 411 W. 8th Street, Room 380, Medford, Oregon 97501 by the proposal deadline. Paper responses must be labeled RFP 18-012MC, Public Defender Services on the exterior envelope in the lower left corner.
DESCRIPTION: The City of Medford is seeking proposals to provide legal services to persons determined by the Medford Municipal Court to be indigent and entitled to court-appointed counsel. The basic services required are legal representation and administrative support services necessary to provide effective, efficient legal representation that meets established professional standards of practice.
The City anticipates that one or multiple contractors may be required to provide indigent legal services. As such, Proposer should anticipate collaboration with City staff and other service providers.
The term of the non-exclusive contract will be for one (1) year with four (4) possible one (1) year renewals upon agreement of both parties which includes the review and approval of the Medford City Council in consideration of the requirements of the Medford Municipal Code Section 2.503.

The City of Medford reserves the right to reject any and all responses not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements and may reject for good cause, any and all proposals upon the finding that it is in the public interest to do so in accordance with ORS 279B.100. The City of Medford reserves the right to waive any and all informalities if it is in the interest of the public to do so.
