Funding Availability: $400,000
The City of Medford Planning Department is accepting proposals for Housing Opportunity Fund financing options. Those who share in the City’s goal to increase, improve, and preserve supportive and attainable housing to meet the needs of the citizens of Medford are invited to apply.
Sealed proposals will be received by Angela Durant, Principal Planner, until 4:00 p.m., local time, August 2, 2019. Proposals may be delivered personally or mailed to 200 S. Ivy Street, Medford, Oregon 97501.
As soon thereafter as possible proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the City’s Housing Advisory Commission.
Proposals will be accepted from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, private sector for-profit developers, certified Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs), government housing providers, and property owners.
DESCRIPTION: The City of Medford is pleased to open the first round of funding availability through the City of Medford Housing Opportunity Fund. The Housing Opportunity Fund is a demonstration of the City’s commitment to increase the supply of quality, affordable housing for Medford households earning up to 120% of the Area Median Income. There are a variety of challenges that housing developers, providers, and property owners encounter when seeking to preserve and develop quality housing that is affordable. This fund was created to address some of these challenges and to incentivize community partners in the production and preservation of affordable housing.
Consideration will be given to projects and programs that accomplish one or more of the following objectives:
Create new rental units
Increase homeownership opportunities
Facilitate land acquisition and infrastructure development for housing
Purchase and preserve existing affordable housing
Develop permanent supportive housing for homeless and special needs populations
Support transitional housing for homeless
Support homeless shelter development

The City of Medford may reject any and all proposals upon a finding of the City that it is in the public interest to do so. The City also reserves the right to waive any informalities in any proposal and to delete certain items listed in the proposal as set forth herein.
Proposals received after the time established for receiving proposals will not be considered. FACSIMILE PROPOSALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
