Welcome to the Fire Prevention and Investigation Division of the Medford Fire Department. Under the direction of Fire Marshal Greg Kleinberg, the Division currently has two Fire Inspectors. The Division is tasked with the following responsibilities:

• Conducting business safety compliance inspections
• Performing origin and cause fire investigations
• Providing public education
• Conducting plan review and inspections for fire suppression, detection and fire code related permits.  

Geographical areas of responsibility and activity include the city limits of Medford (with exempt authority) and Medford Rural Fire Protection District #2. The Fire Prevention Division works under the authority of the State Fire Marshal, as an Assistant to the State Fire Marshal.
