Domestic Assault/Suicidal Subject

Type of Incident: Domestic Assault/Suicidal Subject (MPD Case 17-804)

Date of incident: January 12, 2017

Location of incident: 500 Block Boardman Street, Medford

Suspect: Jack, Brian David Age: 35

On 01/12/17 at 3:12PM, officers were dispatched to the 500 Block of Boardman Street for a reported domestic disturbance with unknown circumstances. Upon arrival, officers determined a male subject, who was believed to still be inside the residence, was armed with a firearm.

The residence was quickly contained by officers, and verbal communication was established with the subject. For the safety of surrounding residents and citizens in the area, Boardman Street was closed off.

A Medford Police negotiator, along with MPD SWAT, responded to the scene. Jackson County Mental Health was also notified of the incident.

During negotiations with the subject, he reported he was armed with a firearm and wanted to cause harm to himself. After approximately two hours of negotiations, the subject exited the residence unarmed and was taken into custody without further incident.

A firearm was seized from inside the residence after investigators executed a search warrant. The suspect was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the below listed charges.
