The City of Medford Building, Planning and Fire departments have worked together to come up with a Temporary Shelter Policy
. We understand the immediate need to provide temporary shelters for people who do not have a warm place to sleep, and we want to ensure that the shelters are safe to sleep in. The policy will apply to both warming shelters and events at churches and schools where people are sleeping. This solution allows many Medford buildings to be feasible locations for temporary shelters with the minimal additional requirements. Each location used as a Temporary Shelter shall be approved through Medford Fire-Rescue. See the attached Temporary Shelter Packet for further information.
