Council Moves Potential Food Trucks on Street Code Amendment to Study Session
City Council decided to move this topic to a Study Session to review it further and gather public input. This potential code amendment would allow food trucks to locate in on-street parking stalls in the public right-of-way in order to serve customers from 10:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The food trucks would have to be self-contained with no need for vehicle (trailers would not be permitted). All other applicable food truck standards would apply. These proposed modifications were based on a citizen request from Cody Diehl, the food truck owner of Fired Up. Council directed staff to conduct additional research on this topic prior to the study session and expressed interest in learning the fee structure for brick and mortar businesses as well as for food trucks. The Study Session has been scheduled for Thursday, August 10th at noon. The public may email their comments on this topic to email@example.com
