The City is pleased to welcome Melissa Cano as the new Emergency Management Coordinator.
In this role, Cano will act as the emergency and disaster preparedness coordinator for the City and will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the City’s Emergency Management Program.
Cano previously worked for the Oregon Department of Forestry as the Public Information Officer and served as the liaison with many local resources during emergencies. Among other things, she was responsible for coordinating with neighboring county and city agencies, public safety agencies as well as updating the local Fire Mobilization Plan and maintaining compliance for the district’s National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).
