News Release from Medford Police Dept.
Posted on FlashAlert: January 30th, 2019 5:03 PM
On January 30th, 2019 at about 2:03 p.m., Medford Police officers and rescue personnel were dispatched to an auto vs. pedestrian crash in the northbound lanes of N. Phoenix Road, just north of Barnett Road.
Rescue personnel were on scene within minutes and determined the pedestrian was deceased. Medford Police Detectives and Traffic Officers were summoned to the scene. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian was struck by a 1998 Peterbuilt dump truck which was traveling north on N. Phoenix Road, in the far right lane. Witness accounts indicate the male intentionally ran in front of the dump truck, which struck and killed him.
The pedestrian was identified as Scott Deusebio, 49 years old, who lived in the 3500 block of Michael Park Drive, which is very close to the scene of the crash. Detectives believe Deusebio committed suicide.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Medford Police Department Detective Division, 774-2230.
