City Facilities Closed to Public as State Issues Two-Week COVID-19 Freeze

COVID-19 Update: Two-Week FreezeThe State of Oregon has issued a two-week freeze from November 18 to December 2, to stop the rapid spread of COVID-19 across Oregon. These risk reduction measures are critical in limiting the spread of COVID-19, reducing risk in communities more vulnerable to serious illness and death, and helping conserve hospital capacity so that all citizens can continue to have access to quality care.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, City Hall and the Lausmann Annex will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, November 18, with an expected reopening on Wednesday, December 2.


Municipal Court:
  • In-person Municipal Court services will continue through Thursday, November 19.
  • Starting Friday, November 20 - Municipal Court is closed to the public but still conducting court by telephone.
  • If you are scheduled for court on a day when City Hall is closed, please call 541-774-2040 for further instructions on how to resolve your case.
  • If you need to make a payment or request a hearing please call 541-774-2040. Or visit our online payment system by clicking here.
  • Violation Trials have been canceled from November 24 through December 2. Please contact the court to update your mailing address.
  • If you do not have access to a phone to contact the court regrading a criminal matter:
    • Get in touch with your public defender or attorney, if you have one, to reschedule your court appearance.
    • If you are scheduled to appear 11/24/20 at 8:45AM, return to the court on 2/9/21 at 8:45AM.
    • If you were scheduled to appear 11/24/20 at 9:30AM or 10:30AM, return to the court on 2/9/21 at 8:45AM.

The City of Medford is committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of City employees and community members during this pandemic.

While we're closing public access to our facilities, we aren't shutting down operations. We will continue to provide essential services to our community. For example, you can still bring a set of building plans to City Hall, just call 541-774-2350 and someone will come down and pick them up.

City services that will continue uninterrupted include:
  • Police and Fire services
  • Utility Services
  • Public Works Engineering and Operations
  • Waste Water Treatment
  • Parks, Recreation and Facilities Maintenance
  • Development Services
  • Capital Projects
Over time, the City will reevaluate facility closures with guidance from the state.
