Fires are the number one cause of death in the home for children ages 5 to 14. Together, we can prevent our children from becoming one of those statistics.
Medford Fire-Rescue reaches into the homes of 4th grade students by visiting schools and presenting "Hazard House ~ Survival Skills for the Home". Through this interactive presentation, children learn valuable information about smoke alarms, home hazards, and exit drills.
We ask teachers to encourage families to work together in completing a Fire and Life Safety Quiz. But most importantly, we have each family develop a Home Fire Escape Plan. Students are told to have fun and be creative!
