Here are some ideas on handling the glass, and some of the paper that can no longer be in your commingle cart:
1. Take your glass bottles and jars to one of six depots located. New Glass Bottles & Jars Drop-off Locations:
Ray’s Food Place, 735 N. Main Street in Phoenix
Ray’s Food Place, 401 5th Street in Jacksonville
Ray’s Food Place, 126 E. Pine Street in Central Point
Sherm’s Thunderbird, 2347 W. Main Street in West Medford
Sherm’s Food 4 Less, 2230 Biddle Road in East Medford
Rogue Transfer & Recycling, 8001 Table Rock Road in White City
2. Rogue Transfer & Recycling, located on Table Rock Rd. in White City is setting up another bin at their recycle depot for what they call “High-Grade” paper. Things like office paper (printer/copier paper), mail (all envelopes, bills, solicitations, etc.) but no catalogs, magazines, or cereal boxes. This high-grade mix collected separately at the depot, and not mixed with the commingle, can be sent directly to a mill and recycled domestically.
3. Use the Bottle Drop for refundable plastic, glass and aluminum beverage containers – and get your dime back for each one you return.
